st. Michael’s Eritrean Orthodox Church in London was established in Earls Court by the late HG Abona Markos in 1989 in collaboration with members of the Eritrean community in London. The congregation, lacking a permanent place of worship remained in a rented church in west London until 1997. In the same year on the 23rd of November 1997 St Michael’s Eritrean Orthodox Church through the tireless service and dedication of HG Bishop Markos, Liqe Tiguhan Fr Yohannes Sibhatu and members of the church who were willing to sacrifice their time, money and life, and with the blessing of our beloved Archangel was able to acquire a modest property located at 78 Edmund Street, in Camberwell, South East London.
